Subject: Request to Proceed with the Galle District Chess Tournament

Dear President,
Chess Federation of Sri Lanka (CFSL),

We, the parents of Galle District players, respectfully request your support in holding the Galle District Chess Tournament as scheduled by the Galle District Chess Association.

We are aware that some outside parents have raised concerns or objections about the tournament. However, we want to stress that this event is solely for Galle District players, and such concerns should not influence the scheduling or organisation of our district event.

Additionally, we have no preference regarding the venue, whether held in Galle or Ambalangoda; it is acceptable to us. Our only request is that the tournament proceed on the planned dates, as any delay could harm our children’s preparation and enthusiasm.

We kindly ask CFSL to support the Galle District Chess Association in moving forward with the tournament as planned, and please take necessary action to ensure that this tournament is held as a rated event as well.

Thank you for your understanding and ongoing support in promoting chess growth in our district.

Warm regards,
Parents of Galle District Chess Players
