The Highlands Borough council was presented with a letter from the DEP the leading agency for the ACE flood mitigation project that they will finish feasibility study at ZERO cost to the borough. The Ace plan addresses Highlands internal drainage issues, 36 runoff, includes state of the art pumping stations and bulkheads to protect from rising sea levels yet there are still residents that are bullying the council to vote against it? Do you have to ask yourself WHY? The are guided by one thing and one thing only, self-interests.They are not interested in the needs of the many. Finishing the study allows us to see the full scope of the plan without spending a dime. Let's tell our council not to cower to bullies and do the right thing. Please sign the petition of support for the Army Corps to move forward with feasibility report and let the voting public decide to proceed or not. Thank you!

im still getting messages from people who are tired of the constant noise from those trying to shut this down. we need to keep pushing because the borough council is listening to the loud few instead of the common sense of the many. lets keep this moving so they know the community actually wants the study done.

im honestly blown away by the momentum building up right now. its clear that everyone is tired of the noise and just wants to see this study finished without wasting any borough money. we are finally showing the council that the people actually care about real flood protection.

My house is two doors down from this picture. Hard to grow anything with a salt water wash.

Please let's come together and get this done. Bullying your neighbors should not be a full time job. This is free. It makes fiscal sense to take advantage of it, that's clear to anyone.

As far as I can tell, without having heard the other side of the story, there is no cost to completing the feasibility study, and the people who live in the flood areas are suffering the effects of a considerable amount of flooding.

I don't understand why people are afraid to see this feasibility study completed. Its information to guide us forward. It will be useful no matter how we approach our efforts to control flooding

The non voters and developers are not looking out for the best interest of this town. I’m always worried if I can get to a hospital, always worried about my property constantly being damaged by corrosive salt water after reinvesting so much in this town. Please get this done!

We need this study!! The Highlands is positioned for greatness this is a great town, great potential. We need to keep moving forward and learn from the catastrophic effects of Superstorm Sandy. I love this town let’s make it the best that it has ever been.
