Support community-based services for individuals with developmental disabilities

As people move from the DCs to the community, the systems that fund the community are not receiving more funding. That money should stay with the people it is meant to help! Services for the Developmentally Disabled in the community have always been dangerously underfunded. This would make a huge difference in these peoples' lives, and the lives of their caregivers as well!

If closure savings are pumped into funding innovative community-based supports, real progress can occur. It's so important that these savings/funds are not diverted to the general fund, but remain earmarked for people with developmental disabilities.

Do not cut state funding for me and others with developmental disabilities. We are people with a future too. We're part of California too. We too, can be assets and contributors to our community as people with hopes and fears alike, with dreams and nightmares alike, as people with continuous victories and failures in a world that can be more difficult for us to keep up in without the help of our fellow human beings. I trust you, as a citizen of California and as a person with autism, to hear our voices as people of the United States of America and account for our needs with wisdom and justice.

Please do all you can to protect the Lanterman act. I and people I know are disabled. Its a miscarriage of justice if our funding is cut. We would not be able to grocery shop if funding is cut. We would also lose our home. Its hard enough living on fixed income. Please protect our rights.

Support ACR

Current practice dictates that any cost savings realized through the closure of the Developmental Center goes to the General Fund. Those savings do not flow to the Regional Center programs to help serve clients in the community as they should. ACR 77 calls for the savings from the closures of the Developmental Centers and revenue generated from the sale or innovative use of those properties should be cycled back into community-based DDS services. I've been with Arc Riverside for over 26 years & we need to keep this money in our Community-Based Services for our Special People with Developmental Disabilities. Over this time (of 26 years) we have had to fight for every penny to keep our Facilities open for our special people & it's just not fair that the most vulnerable people don't get what they need. Please keep this money where it belongs & support our Special People! Please!!!!

Please do not do a money grab and and take away desperately need funds for people with developmental disabilities or the State will have a much more serious problem on its hands. There is no doubt about that. Keep the Promise is RIGHT!!!

Please use invest the savings from Developmental Center closures into community based programs. Keeping the funds in the same system gets us closer to adequately funding community based programs.

Please don't put the money that was promised to us back in the general fund. We need that money to support the Lanternman Act and Regional Centers.

Keep The Promise

Money from the DC system needs to go to support individuals with disabilities in the community. We need to ensure the promise of the Lanterman Act is kept!

Homeless mentally ill citizens fill the streets of our State because Gov. Brown diverted funds from the Lanterman Petris Short Act in his first term. The D.C. closures will fund the Community services promised over 40 years ago. We need to speak up for the Defense of the Lanterman Act.

Keep them happy!

All dollars/funding saved from the closure of Developmental Centers must remain earmarked/used for programs that serve persons with developmental disabilities!!!

Please keep helping people with developmental disabilities. They are vulnerable and need our support both financial and emotional. Thank you
