Keep the US Government out of free market decisions and let the end users have what they need and want. They already have enough problems with out having the US Govt. involved in every day they live.

This is essential to every feeding tube user.

My brother has been a tube feeder for 4 years and he blenderizes most of his food. It is imperative that he continue to have a choice to use a 24Fr. dangling type tube with a large inside bore.

Having needed a feeding tube and will likely need one in the future taking choice away from patients is criminal

The ENFit petition is an example of political interference where it does not belong. Limiting choice is never in the consumers' best interest.

These are people who will starve to death without a safe and appropriate feeding tube. Foisting a cheap, inadequate feeding tube on them will just increase costs when they are rehospitalized for further surgeries and futher reduce their quality of life.

My friend might die if this legislation passes. You can't force everyone to use a faulty device. The after care for infections and broken product with be unbelievably expensive for everyone.

Any implementation by the political lobbying industry, commercial nutrition formula manufacturing corporations and makers of ENFIT hardware is a major step in the wrong direction for a multitude of well known reasons many of which have been well published. No well researched or current scientific studies have been conducted on any age group among tube requiring patients relying on home blended NATURAL WHOLESOME foods and not commercial nutrition formulas by Nestle, Abbot etc all of which are associated with common and frequent intolerance, feeling ill and lacking in natural food sources have been done to date. So why is the ENFit connector system being forced upon this group of patients without any current well conducted scientific or medical research? There are hundreds and hundreds if not multi-thousands who use a 20 or 24 french Peg or G-tube for home blended foods without any restrictions as would be imposed if the ENFit connector system (poorly designed) is FORCED upon helpless patient removing their right to select the type and size of Peg or G-tube they have used for many, many years without issues. This type of injustice to providing highest quality of patient care is a major barrier to true quality patient care, is self defeating and should not be tolerated. Safe use of the ENFit connector system is not based upon any reliable proven outcome studies as they would have you believe but upon suspect collusion among producers of commercial formula and manufacturing companies of ENFit components pushed heavily by political lobbyists and NOT upon good scientific studies.

As a nurse I know users need choices. One size doesn't fit all. One product for all needs is never good.
