I believe that the comment he made was taken out of content. That is the problem with texting and emails, they have no expressions. I understand exactly what he was trying to say. As a society you can't sit back and watch people get hurt and not tell what you saw. Or like he was trying to say why do you not think their lives matter?

Chief Thomas Frost is a gentleman who cares very much about children of all colors & is a very positive person, which our children deserve. Please restore him to his position at Ashley High School.

Don't fire a man for asking a legitimate question. How come black lives matter more if it's a cop who takes it, than if it's another black man? Shouldn't they matter equally?

Those persecuting Tom Frost are ignorant individuals with no chance of being intelligent unless by the grace of God! Where were these ignorant racists when this man wept when his student committed suicide? Where were they through these years where he devoted above and beyond...his time, effort, energy and dollars to provide opportunities for every race and gender of his students. The students that have become leaders within our military and our communities! My personal statement to these ignorant racists is that it must be sad to carry such hate and disrespect toward a man that served his country honorably to allow yourselves to publicly display your lack of knowledge and understanding of Tom Frost's character, honesty and loyalty! I proudly stand with my friend, Tom Frost through this pathetic claim of racism and prejudice. Shame on you racists to claim racism. Honorably and proudly submitted in behalf of Tom! His friend and Shipmate...Frank Roberts

The fact that this is a thing is disturbing. I back Chief Frost 100%. I may have never seen ye-o-eye with him but he doesn't deserve this. He's a dedicated man at served his country, defending our freedom. Part of that freedom is freedom of speech. What he said was greatly misinterpreted by others and they sought to take advantage of this to put this man out of a job and label him a racist. The fact that someone would stoop so low to do this is sickening and disturbing. If you're somehow happy by this news, you should be ashamed of yourself. I support Chief Frost and he should be allowed to return to school to continue to do what he excels best at, and that's serving his country, community, and our right to be free. Chief, you and your family have my full support.

Put into context with the article for which the comment was written, I believe this educator has raised a legitimate question. We cannot shape our future generations by silencing honest debate.

Chief Frost is an extraordinary community service leader who has devoted his life to our country and furthermore our youth who of are all different races. His words were taken out of context and in no way should his job be jeopardized due to this incident. His reputation in this community shines and the personal time and effort he has put into his students and community should show the outstanding character he represents.

Tom Frost succeeded me in 2009 and took on the position as one of the finest NJROTC instructors that have had the privilege of teaching our youth at Eugene Ashley High School. Tom has carried the strong reputation of Ashley NJROTC to a new higher level and is a positive role model for all the cadets. I have had the pleasure of seeing Tom interact with the cadets and have never seen anything but fair and equal treatment. In fact, when you study the demographics of the more than 100 cadets enrolled in this awesome class, it is evident that everyone is included. Tom exemplifies the core values of the Navy and the NJROTC program of Honor, Courage and Commitment. With a strong emphasis on Commitment. I pray he will be treated as fair.

Chief Frost is only to be commended for his years of dedicated work with the diverse student population that is EAHS. This is nothing but a witch hunt, and I openly support him and his family through this issue. His comments on FB do not warrant this degree of backlash.

As a former cadet and student, Chief Frost should be given more respect. The one thing that could've helped was if he explained himself to the public.

Chief Frost had a significant impact in my daughters life what is being done to him is ridiculous.. he has the right to express his opinion on anything that's what he fought for.. you dont have to agree with him but you cant penalize him for his opinion. Unless you have solid proof that mistreated a student during his time as an instructor everything else is his personal business.

As a former military member, as well as my wife,I know firsthand that Chief Frost is an outstanding member of the military community, Ashley HS, and the surrounding community. He sees people, not gender, race, religion or any other divisive means that some people seem to encourage today. Myself, my family and the community at large have our full support behind Chief Frost.

Chief Frost barely knew my son who was in his program for less than 2 weeks. When my son decided he wanted to quit he took time to call me and express his concerns. In the 10 years that we have been in the NHC school system he showed more compassion and interest in my son after only 2 weeks than any other teacher he has had. This is not the character of someone that is a racist like some child is trying to say on social media. What should really be looked at is the racial divide within Ashley High School. Some of the comments on the FB thread were disheartening and somewhat frightening. What those students need is a role model like Chief Frost in their lives.
