The district has cleared Chief Frost to return and this situation is finally behind us. I am exhausted but deeply grateful that you all stayed the course to protect a good man. We have our teacher back and that is all that matters.

New Hanover County Schools Human Resource Division

CC: Dr. Tim Markley

To whom it may concern,

We, former and current cadets/parents along with friends involved in Eugene Ashley Navy Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (NJROTC), wished to state our support for Chief Thomas Frost. Many of us have known him for years. He has been a role model for students, whether they were involved in the program or not.

He has such a kind heart. He is always there for his students, past and present. Just this year, one of his cadet’s parent was arrested. This cadet and their brother asked for Chief because they knew he would help them navigate through this crisis. Another cadet might have gone into the foster system without Chief making some inquiries. Chief always goes beyond the call of duty because he cares. In this day and age, that is a rare thing. Most people only care about themselves, but not Chief.

Those of us who know Chief, know he did not mean his comment in the way that some people took it. Chief sees past race, gender and religion to help and encourage the youth in Wilmington.

We understand that you must investigate this matter. Everyone who has signed this is doing so to show support for a wonderful teacher. Please take our voices to heart when making decisions.

The days have been long and honestly it feels like we are pushing a boulder uphill. We are getting very close to the 250 mark and I need you to push this link to your contacts one more time so we can show them how many people truly stand behind Chief Frost.

Chief Frost is a good and fair man unfortunately being slammed for good intentions but Social media is not the suitable place to discuss critical subjects such as Societal Harmony. It needs to be addressed in open discussions where it can be fully articulated for clear intent and understanding .

It was obvious his question was rhetorical and designed to inspire witnesses to come forward to provide justice for the family. I personally know the Chief and can credit him for embracing diversity in the Navy. This has turned into something about him instead of justice for the victim

A man with such integrity, has passed on the core values to so many. Honor, courage and commitment are just a few words to describe this man who has dedicated his life to serving others and his country. A class act and mentor to so many in the Ashley High family.

This man is an integral part of the JROTC program. He is a mentor to all of the cadets. My neice and two nephews love him. As a booster club member, Chief is very well liked and respected. The school board jumped the gun on this. Very sad situation.

Chief frost was a huge part of my son's life throughout his high school career. I saw him work with many kids of different races and backgrounds and I can say that he was personally invested in each and every one of them. He would never say something derogatory about anyone.

My son spent 2 years at Ashley in the ROTC program, qualifying to compete at Nationals for rifle team. Chief Frost went above and beyond to make that experience for him a truly positive event. He has gone on to the Army,

Tom and his family are one of the most honorable people you will meet and have done nothing but support this country for many years. He has taught many Respect, Honor, Trust, Loyalty, Patriotism.... He followed the code of ethics while serving our country and has passed that along to his students. This assault on him is unwarranted and completely twisted by the media. Don't dishonor an honorable man,

For two years I saw this man perform his duties with nothing but respect for his cadets and family. I get frustrated with people taking things out of context.
