This petition is to highlight the unfair charge that is levied on elderly fixed income tenants in Tauton deanery shelter housing. Tenants are assessed by support workers,asked a lot of very sensitive personal questions the answers filed. Most of us are then told we are not eligible for support, all most of us needed an easily managed home.
No one tells you explains guite what support is (rather like"the emperors new clothes ",but you are then charged 12.43 gbp a week as part of your rent although you are disqualified from receiving anything. You must pay or risk eviction. This unfair tax makes a one bedroomed home dearer than a three bedroom council house in the same area. Please sign to to highlight the plight of low income vulnerable people who really need every penny of their pensions
