The stiffling of democratic expression is tantamount to censorship. It is very unfortunate that our democarcy has come to this as it highlights the very fact that all cornerstones and institutions of the state are being eroded by minorities with vested interests. The loss or reduction of free speech is a catastrophe and what needs to be taken into account that the public formulate and develop policies according to circumstances. An example of this can be seen with the many green measures that have been undertaken as a result of petitioning and beliefs but which are steadily being rolled back by those who seek to exploit the environment for their own means- like fracking for example or GM crops or even the use of pesticides which have had as of yet an unseen effect on both nature and humans. Really, the need to express ones self for better or for worse is the demnocratic right of all and along with the possible censorship of the press one may wonder whetehr we know anything about ourselves or society at all.

Freedom of speech is rapidly vanishing in the UK. What happened to the democracy my father defended in WW2, and my grandparents in WW1?

the govt (especially the conservative party) are just going to use this gagging bill as a tool to help them win the next election - we cannot let this happen; the thought of another 5 years with Cameron as PM chills me to the bone.

The Lobbying Bill, if passed, would be a dangerous and retrogressive step. Britain's standing in the world as a model for democracy would be lost as would be the most essential of human rights and freedoms. Any nation with a written constitution would not allow this legislation. This is a repressive, misguided, party political move that should not be inflicted upon our people.

charities should retain the right of free comment with regard to our planet & all issues relevant to the protection of its ecological balance.
