Whatever its formal title, this is simply a blatant attempt by the conservative 'establishment' to stifle well-informed criticism. Those who have read King and Crewe's The Blunders of Our Governments know that we need more not less criticism in the British government legislative and policy-making process.

It is obviously wrong to try to prevent the UK public from having a voice, whether direct to MPs or through charities and campaigning groups regardless of election dates

With charities at the forefront of objections to this bill, it is clear that the government proposals go much too far. Please oppose any restrictions to the civil rights which underpin our democracy.
