The importance that government is representative and reflects and advocates for a better society for the good of all should be at the heart of society. If communication breaks down then society breaks. Having worked for a small charity advocating for the needs of those often forgotten it's important that government listens so that policy can be informed. If government is not listening then those isolated need to be able to shout to be heard.

For a democracy to remain a true democracy, the elected Government should listen to what the people who put them there have to say. It is not a democracy if, once elected, the Government ignores the opinions and/or wishes of the country until just before the next election.
