I have on many occasions joined with charities and campaign groups to lobby for changes to overseas aid and trade relations with developing countries. As a Christian I am concerned that we should be able to lobby on behalf of the disadvantaged in the world.
As a not so able bodied person i need for my voice to be heard, We need people to help us getting our voices heard,!! Taking away our voices and the reality of what that would mean to everyone! We need people to speak for us when we cannot ourselves!
This bill would be a major threat to the legitimate role of the vouluntary sector in campaigning on important social policy issues in the run up to any major election so would represent a serious infringement of democratic principles and civil society.
The essential right to lobby and campaign, currently enjoyed by wildlife charities such as Devon Wildlife Trust, of which I am a long standing member, is seriously threatened by the proposed Lobbying Bill. Please do all you can to prevent this from happening.
As an Anglican Franciscan friar, working with people who are n the margins of society and for the care of creation, I have strong reservations about the Lobbying Bill as drafted by the Government, and I support Lord Harries' amendmendments to the Bill. a

This bill remains most unsatisfactory. It appears to be a deliberate attack on chaarities and other independent bodies whose views conflict with those of governments subject to undue influence from big business and behind the scenes lobbying.
