As a hospital participating in Best
Fed Beginnings and working towards its Baby Friendly designation, Sparrow should create an environment in which their Magnet designated nurses thrive. Currently, caregivers have two lactation rooms in the hospital, leading to worries over time constraints with job duties and if either of the pumping room will be available. This does not promote the Best Fed Beginnings and Baby Friendly designation Sparrow is currently working towards for its patients. If you feel Sparrow Hospital should provide their lactating caregivers with adequate pumping space to encourage and support breastfeeding, please sign below.
My son is still in the Rnicu so I can use their rooms but when I go back to work i'm nervous for what I'm going to encounter. I think they should also provide pumps so breastfeeding moms don't have to lug around heavy portable pumps.
