Supply management is what keeps our family farms alive... it provides a secure market for our dairy producers without which we will see most of our dairy products shipped in from large factory farms in other countries... making us as consumers just a bit more dependant on foreign supply for our food.

I support all Canadian industries for a strong economy. Forestry, mining, oil, and agriculture are all major industries that provide a living for millions of families in Canada. With the current trend toward local sustainable living, removing the supply management system is a step in the complete wrong direction. The average dairy farm in Canada is less than 100 cows and family owned producing high quality product with the best animal care in mind; remove supply management and farmers will be forced to grow exponentially to compete against foreign subsidized markets. The be economically stable a dairy farm will need to grow to 500, 1000, 2000+ cows per farm (as seen in New Zealand since the removal of supply management). No matter how you look at it the animal care and milk quality cannot compare to a small family owned operation vs a 1000 cow facility staffed by only a handful of employees who may not have the same care for the operation and animals as a owner operator. Not only will milk quality suffer but for every farm to stay sustainable would require growth to the point where the market would be over flooded with milk thus causing a crash in price. There will be a few farms that grow 10x the size and many many farms that are forced out financially to make room for the corporate expansions. I myself am a 3rd generation Canadian dairy farmer and have just purchased a dairy farm this year. I have put everything I have on the line and put my faith in the Canadian government to keep a sustainable economic market. The loss of supply management would mean bankruptcy and financial ruin for myself, along with countless other families. I do not know anything about poultry, I don't know the economics and day to day involved so I will not speak for them, but I can speak on behalf of the dairy world and we need supply management. I know first hand being born and raised on the farm and now owner and manager what it takes to make it or break it. We work hard along w

I thought this was a joke....foreign milk????!!!! Seriously??? Keep our milk made in Canada! I would stop drinking milk altogether if it didn't come from canadian dairy farmers.

If the quota system is no longer effective, we will lose the quality control of dairy milk. You will see a lot of dairy farms shutting down which would be a crying shame.

Canadian dairy farmers can't compete with the u.s.a and Europe subsidies when we don't receive any ourselves

Avec la gestion de l'offre les producteurs fournissent aux consommateurs un produite de qualité à prix juste sans soutien de l'état.

There are many countries in the the would that have gone away from supply management, the results have not been good. Lower prices for the farmer have followed, with the retailer and the middle man taking the margin. The consumer has never benefited from the farmer receiving a lower price and the farmer has never benefited either. The farmer having to produce more for the same revenue does not equal more profit, it's a myth.

Protect our farmers in Canada and the current federal government should not have the opportunity to sign when an election is looming. Too many families, farmers, and stabilized economies would be effected.

Dairy farmers support rural Canadian towns and economies. How will the TPP benefit these communities?

Slowly but surely the hardcore conservative right wing will get their way. Eliminating a sector who gets their return from consumers not government subsidies
