This site has amazing opportunity and potential and I look forward to seeing an exciting new food offer to activate this space further.

The Cafe will add to amenity and sense of vibrancy, community and place in this corner of Richmond. This is a great way to revitalise an asset CoY would need to otherwise pump money into to restore and maintain. The Park can be better utilised: the Cafe will bring a new leisure experience and new neighbours into the Park. Patrons will be protected from off-lease dogs. Day-light hours of operation won't impact nearby neighbours' amenity. This is good news!

We strongly support this exciting development. We have noticed spray painting on the grass around the building protesting against the development and a notice even inside one of the building windows seeking support to stop the development through a petition. The anti-development group seems to:
a) believe the park is ‘OUR’ park, not the community’s;
b) that it is for dogs and dog owners over and above the rest of the public, including children.
They have painted on the grass areas where dogs would not be allowed and where alcohol will be served, clearly believing that their dogs should be given priority. There are signs all around the park, including inside the council’s closed notice board. The main area where dogs are off the leash, next to the old building, is rarely used by anyone else, especially children, because of the obvious risk of dog droppings as well as some of the dogs being large and boisterous.

What a great initiative put forward to restore this heritage building into something that all the community can enjoy. Great Idea and great Park for it.

Can't wait to enjoy a coffee in the park which I frequent often with the kids and dog. Will enjoy a coffee while I sit at the playground!
