I support a rink or similar use as a recreational and community space such as a swimming pool or recreation center.

It would be great for the City of Pittsburgh to have an Ice Ring.

No indoor rink currently exists within the City of Pittsburgh. Not only would a rink be a benefit to our team, it would substantially contribute to the quality of life in terms of recreational and sporting options for City residents, and provide access and expose underserved City communities to year-around skating and the great sport of ice hockey. Participation in the ice hockey also creates life-long fans who will economically support our local armature and professional teams, having a direct impact on this Region's economy. In all of these respects, the rink is badly needed and should be strongly supported by those who can make it happen.

This sounds like a great opportunity for the always growing ice hockey community in the Pittsburgh area!

Would be a great additional to Western PA amateur (school) hockey provided the facility and its perimeter are secure.

Why can't city dwellers have an indoor ice rink? Shadyside has an abundance of apartments already. It's a wonderful idea for city kids and their families!

One of the challenges with building a new rink is finding tenant teams. Central Catholic, who has a long and storied hockey history to go with a current strong program, would satisfy this immediate need. Bringing in another program like Pittsburgh Ice, which provides equipment and ice time for underprivileged children would be a blessing for the community.

A rink would enrich the area and provide activities for not only the children, but adults. Maybe it would attract more families to the neighborhood.
