Support Brian Rollfinke

Everyone is entitled to due process and a meaningful investigation of complaints and allegations.

Mr. Rollfinke's sensitivity to and support of our daughter's learning style and strengths are nothing short of breathtaking. His communication with us about her has been stellar in its thoughtfulness and thoroughness. I treasure what I have learned from him about our child, She has, from day one in his class, felt supported and inspired, even when navigating much of the material was tough going for her. I do not know what the nature of the complaints against him are. I do know he has distinguished himself as one of our daughter's most memorable teachers, memorable for the best of reasons.

Brian has been an engaged, observant, supportive Math teacher, advisor, and coach to our son this school year, and to countless Friends 7th graders throughout his long career. It takes an exceptional person to teach middle schoolers, and to keep at it for 30 years is beyond exceptional. I’m grateful our son has Brian as a role model and an example of commitment, resilience, innovative thinking, problem-solving, and generosity. I hope our 3rd-grade daughter is aforded the same opportunity.

I strongly agree with this letter. Both my boys learned so much from Brian. Middle school at Friends is the weakest school. Brian is one of the three teachers who made it worth it. He is a gifted teacher and am saddened that other children at Friends won’t get to learn from him. He is worth figuring out what really happened.

Again, I’m deeply troubled that the administration has yet to change anything. I hope the school makes the right decision or I would find it impossible to send my future kids to this institution.

Brian is a key reason why my family’s move to Baltimore and Friends has gone so well. He is a tremendous person and role model.
