I am in support of any research related to BIA-ALCL or other implant related cancers. More needs to be done. Breast Implant Victim Advocacy

Textured implant since 2007. Mastectomy in 1991. Nobody notified me but found out after contacting Allergan. Surgeon no longer had my records but I had a card with serial number. I now have appointment with plastic surgeon at Mayo to examine implant and hopefully get MRI. I now have new MRI compatible pacemaker so previous to this was unable to get MRI. Encourage all who have any type of implant to keep your own records and register with trackmysolutions.us as they will notify you if FDA recalls. I was informed Doctors keep records for five years only. Don’t know if this relates to electronic records.

I had Naturelle textured implants due to breast reconstruction after BC and bilateral mastectomy 10 years ago. I had pain which was attributed to radiation/capsular contracture. They were explanted on August 6, 2019. My surgeon practically laughed at me for my concern about BIA-ALCL. I questioned the biopsy findings to make sure that they tested for BIA-ALCL. They said that there was no seroma so no further testing was needed. I hope this is true.

As a cancer survivor I am appalled that anything that could potentially cause another cancer was ever put in my body! Please allow this research to happen! Lives depend on it.

I was diagnosed days ago. My journey has been ridiculously challenging. It had taken two years to get to my diagnosis. I still not know my stage of disease. The first two surgeons I saw dismissed me entirely. I was treated like a crazy person for thinking I might have this awful disease . I was shamed and down right ridiculed . No imaging technician had even heard of it si they had no knowledge of how to properly scan me, missing the tale-tell seroma- If I had not insisted over and over again for more tests I would still just be getting sicker without a diagnosis . RAIST THE ROOF!!

In late 2016, I had breast cancer and a double mastectomy with reconstruction under the muscle. My plastic surgeon was well aware that I was trying to escape cancer and wanted safe implants. Without informing me of the risks, he used on me textured expanders and Allergan Natrelle 410FX highly cohesive implants. I'm devastated and afraid.

This is for my mother. Who after everything she has gone through in the lifetime, shouldn't have to deal with this on top of everything else.

I had mine removed after 30 years, under the muscle. So many symptoms. So much better now!!
