We use the BFRT daily and we live in a 55 plus community. It’s important for senior to have a safe place to walk.

This is a wonderful addition to have locally. I see folks of all ages and socioeconomic levels enjoying this space. It promotes healthy activity in a world where we are increasingly too “available” and focused on screens.

The pandemic has made abundantly clear how valuable this resource is to the communities around the area.

This will be an important connection to the Mass Central Rail Trail, and potentially other trails in the future.

I support the continuation of acquiring the rest of the rail line in Framingham and the surrounding towns. I have utilized multiple rail trails over the last year. I feel it will be a great asset to the community.

We're abutters along BFRT Phase 2D in Concord and very supportive of this important link in the trail system-- the first leg of our car-less commute via West Concord station.

I eagerly look forward to the day when, perhaps, the BFRT can connect directly to the Mass Central Rail Trail, giving me a way to reach Boston with a minimum of time spent on roads - and phases 2 & 3 are how that can happen.

When a CTPS study in the late 1980's indicated that it was feasible to construct a rail trail (the BFRT) on the former Framingham-to-Lowell rail bed, I was an immediate enthusiast. My bicycle has been tuned up and ready to ride for 33 years! As a Sudbury resident, I am impatient for construction of Phase 2D to begin in 2022.

One of the best things we've seen developed by a highly accomplished regional community.

Phase 2D of the Bruce Freeman Rail Trail finally brings the trail adjacent to my bicycle commute. I have been waiting for this trail for more than a decade. At long last, please fund this trail immediately.

The BFRT is a great asset to our communities. We regularly bike on the trail on both sides of Route 2 and we anticipate the ability to ride through once the bridge over Route 2 is completed. We recently walked on the trail from Williams Road through the unpaved section into Sudbury. It is a beautiful recreational trail that opens up opportunities for residents of the area.
Please continue to fund this project.

I support continued support for the Bruce Freeman Rail Trail. They've already done a beautiful job with creating a safe and enjoyable path for walking or biking an more. They're very organized, committed and have proven they can carry through with their projects.

Boston MPO,
As a resident of Westford who has been fortunate to have the BFRT in his backyard for many years now I can't overstate how much of a positive impact it has made to the Westford community as well as nearby towns. The communities around the trail desperately need a way for residents to safely get outside and walk, bike, run, etc. Our towns lack sufficient pedestrian and bike infrastructure to keep residents on safe on the roads. The rail trail is that haven. That place were kids can safely ride with their friends and parents. A safe corridor for residents to commute to local business and transportation hubs. Please continue your support of the BFRT and include funding for phase 2D in the FFY 2022 TIP.
Thank you,
Chris Barrett

The Bruce Freeman railtrail brings uncountable benefits to every community that it crosses. Please include funding for Phase 2D in the FFYs 2022-2026 TIP for FFY 2022 construction.

I strongly support the inclusion of the BFRT Phase 2D for advertisement for construction for FFY 2022 in the FFYs 2022-2026 Draft TIP. Phase 2D is an important addition to the existing plan of the BFRT and adds a wonderful resource to the southern part of the trail.
