Israel has committed human rights attrocities and had disproportionate weapons advantages for far too long give Palestine equal votes and arms

Criticism of Israel is no more anti-Semitic than criticism of Iran is anti-Muslim. Israel is a state, not a people. To say that Israel speaks for the Jewish people is inherently a racist statement because it infers that all Jews think alike.

I am a member of Independent Jewish Voices Canada. We support equal rights and justice for ALL and an end to the Israeli occupation. BDS is a non-violent means to promote these goals.

I am writing to Paul Hennigan as follows:
Your attack on BDS - Boycott/Divestment/Sanctions - has come to my attention here in Canada. It will be useful to me and other non-Zionist Jews.
The IHRA - International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance - definition of anti-Semitism - gives, as most of its examples of anti-Semitism, criticism of Israel. It has come before various legislative bodies in Canada, and will no doubt come before others. Its proponents assume that adopting it is an attack on academic freedom. Your actions at Point Park University prove that it is indeed.
I am a Jew and a supporter of BDS. And yes, I think Israel has no right to exist, not as a Jewish state. Imagine the United States if it were a Christian state in the same way that Israel is a Jewish state.
And I am very tired of people like you, who should know better, assuming that all Jews support every bloody thing Israel does - and yes, many of the things Israel does are bloody.

As a retired academic and a veteran of WW2, I am appalled that a University President would take such a misinfomred action. His action supports injutice and the crimes committed by Zionists against Palestinians beginning in 1948 and continuing to this day.
