Final supporters
Arco Iris Spanish Immersion School is a small public charter school in Beaverton, Oregon. We are applying for a federal charter school grant - the Non-SEA Planning, Program Design, and Implementation, CFDA 84.282B - and we need your support!
At Arco Iris, our mission is to foster an increased academic ability that includes students becoming bilingual, bi-literate and multi-cultural so that they are fully prepared for college, career and citizenship. Studying a second language increases the student’s cognitive flexibility, the ability to mentally shuffle material, significantly improving students’ problem solving abilities, and also leads to greater understanding of the world we live in. Our school also uses the Singapore Math curriculum which has helped Singapore students rank #1 globally every year in Math by TIMSS. Our students need every advantage they can get to compete in tomorrow's global economy. Results show that in our first two years of operation, students have met or exceeded state standards in both Reading and Math! Our student scores are among the highest in the state!
This grant will help us to build on our initial success by enabling us to procure textbooks, curriculum, technology equipment for teachers and students, library books, training in PBIS, immersion strategies and Singapore Math for our teachers. We currently have no library, no tech lab, no playgournd or formal music, PE or art classes. We desperately need these funds and if you agree that our students deserve a strong academic foundation, please sign your agreement here in support of our goal to obtain this grant.

BEAVERTON NEEDS THIS. Bilingual education is so important for the future of our kids. Do not let this opportunity pass by.
why are they operating without a library?? this school is doing great work with their test scores and deserves the funding to get proper equipment.
My daughter goes here and she loves it. Please give them the grant so she can have a real playground and library to use.
Give them the money. Public charters doing this well should be supported full stop.
Arco Iris has been a blessing for my son. Seeing him speak spanish at home is amazing. Keep it going!

Singapore math is the best. We need this school to have the resources to keep teaching kids effectively.
