First off, well done on your massive achievement which is a big step for space travel/exploration/research etc etc. Secondly, you have no reason to feel guilty or bad about that shirt. While true that if a woman wore a shirt with men it wouldnt matter, this is irrelevant. The assumption that wearing a shirt with scantily clad women with guns means you must hate women or have no respet for them or whatever is ridiculous and is an overeation by a group of picky individuals ooking to jump on any little thing. I support feminism as a man but this sort of thing gives it a bad name and i hope you realise plenty of women and feminists at that, also support you and do not find your shirt offensive. It is a shirt, it doesn't reflect your views on women nor does it mean anything bad towards women in the first place. When i first saw you in the news before this 'scandal' i thought 'brilliant, this guy looks like a quirky, fun guy who isn't some dull academic and actually has a personality' tattoos an everything it was great, to many you are the epitome of challenging stereotypes in science form the 'nerd' archetype. Kudos to you. What should have been a great moment

Thankyou for all your hard work. It's a great shirt and you didn't need to apologise for anything. Best wishes.

I showed the clip to my own children and then to my Year 1 students and was able to say that their parents helped pay for it, their country helped do this historic thing. The fascinating discussion generated among 5 year olds, some of who had no idea about our place in the solar system at all, was wonderful to be a part of. The learning and inspiration from this sort of thing cannot be underestimated. I'm gutted on your behalf that this has caused a shadow and when my daughter grows up to be a scientist as she wants to I'll buy her a wolverine t-shirt to wear because women like wearing men too.

Cheers Matt for helping humanity reach new levels of scientific discovery. Don't take it to heart that some people can't get over themselves when it comes to thinking everything a man does is to objectify an degrade women. You shouldn't have to worry about your (pretty cool) shirt on a day that is meant to be amazing for you and your team.

The bullying Matt received over a shirt is inexcusable. Those that took part in the bullying and coerced him to apologize are a disgrace.

Might get me one of those shirts... and some tatts. I still won't be a space scientist though, bugger.
