Hi Matt, I'm a woman in STEM, and I probably wouldn't wear your shirt (I'm more into purple :), but I'm so so so so sorry that your huge accomplishment was somewhat overshadowed by all of this. CHIN UP! And keep being awesome. Not every woman in science hates you!

You did something many of us could only dream of and you did something nice for a friend who gave you that shirt with love. I see your passion for your work can do so much good so don't let others talk down to you like that. It's a great shirt and you are a great person.
