From what I've seen, most of the people criticizing your shirt defend their criticisms by saying that you chose to wear that shirt which is why you deserve all the hate. So basically if you didn't want that to happen you shouldn't have dressed that way. I'm no expert but wasn't this once said about another group of people and immediately shot down? That's a great way to validate and gain support for their cause.
