This man helped make a major contribution to mankind and we're all worried about his fashion sense? He's done more to benefit us they all of his critics and frankly he could be in his birthday suit but it won't change what he's accomplished.

Great work sir, your efforts are highly appreciated by me, and perhaps not by all, your shirt is not what you'll be remembered for.

Hypersensitive people do not belong in the scientific community.

From another astrophysicist, I fully support Dr. Taylor, while the choice of shirt was unprofessional for the event, it never deserved the criticism and hatred it and you have received. Unfortunately some people get so involved with their agenda, they don't understand the damage they've done to the community and to you as their target. You've done some tremendous work Dr. Taylor, you deserve nothing but respect for your achievments and I hpe you know that many from the astronomical science fields feel the same way.

THANK you, Matt! For your part in one of the most historical moments in science history I have ever witnessed AND for your great taste in shirts! You had NO need to apologise, and it makes me sick that you were made to do that! Stand proud, my man! You are a modern day hero! Oh - and where can I get one for my husband??! xxx

I thought it was really nice of you to wear that shirt that your friend designed and I'm sure she felt exactly the same way! You shouldn't let anyone make you feel ashamed at a time when you should be at your proudest! As someone who is studying engineering, you are an inspiration to what can be achieved using ingenuity, logic and hard work! Your achievements will be revered and remembered throughout history, not the clothes you were wearing at the time!! Congratulations again, and keep up the good work! We need people like you in the world!
