Please, please help protect our children by calling for at least a temporary mask mandate. Elementary children cannot be vaccinated and have no protection from Covid. It’s up to us to protect them.

Please do what’s necessary to protect our children and uphold the mission, vision, and core values of Kingsport City Schools. We know in-person learning is best for our children, teachers and community. We also know that mask work to mitigate the spread. We NEED an enforced mask mandate. Let’s work together to help ensure the health, safety and future of our children. Please do you part!

My 4th grade son (9 years old) has already missed 4 out of the first 15 days of school due to sickness.
He has been COVID tested twice and I have had to miss multiple days of work. My son wears a mask every day, but with many of his classmates and teachers not masking, when cold symptoms arise I lack the confidence that they aren't COVID. Please take this simple step and issue a mask requirement in our schools.

Please take the necessary steps to keep our children safe - especially those under 11 who are unvaccinated. We especially have a moral and ethical responsibility, most especially, to protect the most vulnerable among our kids - those who are immunocompromised. Please, please listen to our doctors. Listen hard to the reasonable majority of parents. We may not be screaming, but we are speaking up and are waiting to be heard.
Kingsport should be leading, not waiting/following.

Please help protect our children and community on the basis of what science says and not cave to political pressures from a state government displaying very questionable ethos.

Science has proven the effectiveness of masking. Why should he fee determine the fate of the mass, especially our children and those who make great sacrifices to teach and nurture them. Thank you for the opportunity to sign in favor of masking!

Please keep our most vulnerable kids safe, we need masks in schools. Our elementary kids are ineligible for vaccination, so we have to protect them other ways. Masks are an easy effective way to lower risk and keep our schools open. Let’s protect our kids and show the world that safety comes first.
