Mrs Rich is doing a great job! Being a principal for such a large school is demanding and also takes a smart, loving, patient, engaging, goal oriented, and strong woman....all of Mrs Rich has displayed. The 2 sarcastic remarks are funny but yet true. It's funny how the "anonymous remarks" are brave enough to leave comments but quick to hide behind the skirts of the one who started this. If you feel so passionate about this petition, then why not make yourselves known? State your concerns public? I guess it's easier to find someone to blame other than yourselves.
I also disagree with your first sentence of this petition "We the parents...." I in no way gave consent as an OV parent to include me or my child in this petition. There is a line that is crossed when you include others that don't want any part in this. So once again if you feel so passionate about this, then rephrase it with the names that started this...unless of course...you have something to hide?

Thank you for having the courage to start this petition. Don't feel discouraged by the number of signatures. There are dozens of parents that agree with you but are too afraid of the principal to sign it.
It is extremely telling that the only two comments against this petition are sarcastic, angry rants riddled with scathing generalizations about parents. Those comments aren't exactly glowing endorsements of principal Rich. But, they do help me understand why so many parents are afraid to sign.

Yes what a great petition...let's slander someone's reputation based on no known facts! Let's all sign this and let it effect innocent bystanders...allow them to feel the wrath of bitter people.
Think about this people, students and parents will be effected greatly...all because of your unhappiness. If your not happy...then leave! You wouldn't continue to do something if it hurts you...why stay at a school that your not happy with! those signing the petition ask yourselves..."is my child happy at OV?" Thier opinion matters! As parents you want to see change in the school...learn the protocol and be eager to help!
Let's not take into consideration all the good she has done for our school! How the kids love her! Mrs Rich is a great principal!

Yeah down with the principal. Shes so corrupt. She only seems to like the kids who get good grades. Every kid should get an 'A' even if it wasn't deserved. Pass all the kids or fail all the kids.
I know what you mean about diversity too. When are we going to let kids learn about other cultures? Why teach them basic American history? What about Canadian history? Thats the principals job to set the curriculum right? It's not like it comes from a school board who sets a specific plan for all school districts. The principal should make the teachers deviate and teach the kids whatever they want.
While we are at this I want all kids to be on the honor roll and get awards for being on a team, even if they didn't deserve them. We cant let the man keep holding us down. What does the school want me to do teach my kid at home. Thats why i send them to school. Its your job as a teacher and principal to teach my kid even if they arent paying attention. Teach my kid cause i dont want to.

Do your job parents. Teach your kids at home if you feel they arent learning everything at school. If only there was a place filled with books and computers to learn things and study for more information.

This is a wonderful school with awesome teachers! Unfortunately, the leadership of our principal does not engage our students, the parents, and other community members to enhance the cultural diversity of our school and the needs of some of our students. For example, the No Excuses program adopted by our principal for the school is not an evaluated program to show that it is effective - there are no studies indicating the success of NO Excuses. How will this program really impact our students? I would rather see effort to bridge the community of this large school to continue the positive relations of our student and parent involvement. Particularly, with school activities where a major decline in parent involvement has occurred...where is the sincere encouragement of parent involvement by the principal to encourage ALL of us to be involved. There are many more concerns and I am thankful for this petition.
