If you are connected with Church at the Red Door, you are likely aware that we are in the entitlement process to purchase the piece of property on the southeast corner of Avenue 49 and Jefferson Street in Indio, California. Our project has not been without opposition; some of the neighbors are concerned about traffic, some of the neighbors are concerned about outdoor noise.

We have prepared the traffic studies requested by the City. All studies have concluded that at maximum buildout our offsite and onsite improvements are adequate to mitigate traffic concerns. As for noise, we will not be a church that holds outdoor carnivals or outdoor concerts; it's just not part of our DNA.

Another fact is that many of the neighbors may not be aware that the general plan update that the City of Indio recently undertook has changed the zone designation of this property from "country estates" to "connected neighborhood." While the zoning has not been completed for the "connected neighborhood," it will allow for a much greater density than "country estates." It may allow up to 240 units to be built on the property.

CRD is committed to being a good neighbor, and we believe this property is where God wants our church home to be located.

Our specific plan will be going before the City Council on June 16, 2021. We ask that if you are an Indio resident, please sign this petition (placing your address in the comments section) showing your support of Church at the Red Door making their home at this location. We also ask that you share this link on your social media if you feel comfortable doing so and/or forward to your neighbors. If have questions regarding the specific plan or would like to speak at the council meeting, please contact our property development team leader at [email protected].

Thank you for your consideration!

I honestly never thought we would see this kind of momentum when we first started talking about the lot on Jefferson because it felt like such an uphill climb back then. It is honestly so encouraging to see the support growing like this even when there is so much noise coming from the people who just do not get why we want to be here.

I have had the pleasure of attending Red Door for the past several years when visiting my dad over holidays, but the past year I have lived in La Quinta + it's been the biggest blessing calling Red Door my new home church. My dad + I have an amazing Home Church family and we watch the Red Door sermons together in-person every Sunday. I love my Red Door Home Church family so much and consider them all dear friends. I petition that the City Council allows Red Door to plant their church here. Prayers!

A House of Worship is definitely the BEST option for this location! For those who may oppose, please consider other possible options such as a drive thru restaurant or cannabis facility, low income housing, etc.

We live in the Indian Springs Golf and Country Club neighborhood and we think that The Church of the Red Door would be a great addition to the neighborhood.ie Jefferson street location. We are looking forward to having a facility which can reach out and minister to, and touch the community of Indio. through community activities and support which the church plans to do and I plan on helping with. We are Winter residents and have been connected wit The Red Door since the Church was founded. It has become our ‘home church’. Paster Jeff’s inspired teachings and the outreach programs do and will continue to reach those many most in need. We believe the Church on Jefferson will be a ‘God-send’! Please approve!

I wish those who oppose would consider the alternatives such as a strip mall with cars going in and out all day. We can shop at Ralph’s and people should look how busy their parking lot is.
