Thank you to all of those who supported the petition. The motion to resume sports passed 4-1. Competition resumes!!! We're grateful for the Trustees making careful consideration and for listening.

As members of the community, parents of student athletes, and sports fans, we recognize the challenges facing the Nampa School District trustees regarding balancing a healthy educational environment and taking risks in a COVID-19 world. Students, educators, artists, athletes, employees, and many other stakeholders continue to be adversely impacted by these challenges.

With this petition we would like to make our feelings known: Let the games begin!!!

With certain precautionary measures, risk can be minimal:

1. Screen participants prior to entry, including taking temperatures,

2. Wear masks during competitions,

3. Encourage social distancing by maximizing the use of bleacher areas, etc.

As parents and community members, we commit to doing our part by being responsible stakeholders as well by encouraging healthy habits while at home in addition to out in the community. Together we can make a lasting impact to making a tangible difference for the good for our student athletes.
