It seems like discrimination by profit hungry companies not to provide super fast broadband to a small locality because it may not be cost effective ??? Just deplorable

Our so called broadband is creaking at the seams, and things will only get worse as Internet traffic continues to increase. With no upgrades on the horizon, more and more online services will become untenable for the community of West Allotment. We need action now before the infrastructure reaches breaking point.

I don't expect this to make any real difference, but the only other viable option for improved internet access is to move house! The quickest, easiest solution would be for BT to upgrade our street cab. If we wait for Virgin, they will need to dig up all of the roads to enable them to deliver their cable service. Maybe if we could reduce our Council Tax to compensate for the lack of this service, then the council might be interested!

Reasonable broadband is a basic necessity in a modern society. Also more people than ever are self-employed and depend on the internet to make their living.

I registered my interest in super fast broadband over three years ago and although I consistently receive advertising literature from both BT and Talk Talk through my door I am told it is not available, good luck with the petition.

Vital for any modern day house and such a intricate part of daily life. So many people need and expect it and to have such a slow speed in such a modern estate keeps us behind the curve. It puts off businesses, affects property decisions and turns people away

It beggars belief that our street is less than 600 meters from the Council offices, yet our internet connection is so shockingly slow and unreliable. Ironically, my connection froze once already while trying to complete this online petition.

I agree with the view that in today's age high speed broadband should be treated like a public utility. I am not claiming it to be as crucial as gas, electricity and water, it is still an essential part of people’s lives for various reasons such as creating and consuming information, staying connected with nears and dears, and conducting daily business. I am an IT consultant working from home. The slow broadband is a hindrance, and affects my productivity. BT deciding to not connect us via fibre optic is like Royal Mail denying to deliver parcels to a certain location.
