NBA Commissioner Adam Silver has said he expects players to stand during the US National Anthem. Roger Goodell has refused to enact such a policy. Whereas I agree it is EVERY American's right to kneel anytime they wish, when we watch a football game and witness the multi-million dollar commercials, we are lining the very pockets of those that don't feel it's necessary. As much as I hate to miss it, I will not be watching the Super Bowl and increasing their viewership, thus the value of the commercial airtime.

  • Just because it's their right to kneel doesn't make it right.
  • Besides the general public, most active military and veterans have conveyed quite clearly it is offensive to them. Whether it's intended that way or not, that's how it's accepted.

Seeing this grow makes the exhaustion of these past few weeks feel a bit more manageable. I am tired of the indifference from those in charge, and it is clear that many of you are right there with me.

I will not watch the super bowl this year 2018 since I was three years old and I am 52 now due to the dis- respect the players have given the National Anthem to protest for something they need to protest on their time and not using the National Anthem as a foundation to get attention for the sole purpose of what the players are upset about.

As a Navy vet what they are doing is disrespectful. If they really wanted to make a change and show support for racial injustice then they should protest in the areas that the injustice are happing. In that way they could draw support instead of pushing people away.

Boycott the Superbowl as well as the advertisements that will be shown. Let the companies advertising know that you will not see the advertisements that they have paid a million dollars or more to see. Shame on those companies, the players and the NFL.!

My son is hosting a boycott the super bowl party. All our family will be there enjoying a day of Christian fellowship and fun without worrying about offensive half-time shows, drinking to have fun and demoralizing family values.

I am an Army combat veteran and anything other than standing for the national anthem and flag is an insult to the friends I and every other veteran have lost.

They refuse AMVETS for "Political Reasons" but let players take a knee for "Political Reasons". Hipocrites!!!!! America should consider a new pastime.

If they can not control their players when they are working or their referees when they make a big mistake [why watch]

Between the disrespect to our country and the disrespect to the entertainment starting back in 2004 I will not spend a dime in watching the game or the products that are advertised .
