It would be such a loss if Sunset Surf had to close. My family (& extended family) and I are from Derby & Nottingham have been a customer of Sunset Surf every August for a number of years. Please think twice before rejecting the application, as the loss to the business & other businesses in the area will be significant.

Sunset Surf is an amazing place and one of the only reasons we would come back to the area. It seems ludicrious that it should be threatened with closure.

Sunset Surf is always our go to for breakfast the day we arrive each morning for our holiday. It is such a lovely and well run business that always makes the customer feel valued, not many places are left like that anymore! It seems ridiculous to jeopardise such a business for carrying out essential repairs, putting jobs and the establishment at risk!

I have enjoyed the hospitality at Sunset Surf many times since moving to the south west some years ago. I'm happy to travel from out of the county to the cafe and shop as a destination in and of itself, with excellent food, hospitality, a well stocked shop with knowledgeable staff. The owners and staff are evidently passionate local advocates for the environment and local economy of the area. The council should understand these compelling reasons for passing this application, and allowing a local business bringing countless £s into the local economy and supporting jobs year round, to survive and thrive. Think also of the loss in business rates should this business close. With council revenues being cut, perhaps encourage and support local businesses to thrive rather than punish those looking for a way to survive within a depressed economy, while being hit by unforeseen environmental damage.

I fully endorse the changes made at Sunset Surf Cafe. I feel that it it is a very much needed business both in Summer and Winter. It's more inviting and brings a more seaside feel to Gwithian. With the Godrevy Lighthouse as a back drop when looking out to sea. This is a wonderful place. The Owners and Staff work so hard to offer something much more here, perhaps if there name was Rick Stein there would be No Problem. You can open wherever you like... This area, has never had in its history, anything other than just a shop, selling buckets and spades. Oh! and teas on a tray.

The building itself is now more modern and provides a lovely cafe the council should concentrate on the car park and the lack of toilets because the cafe is the only place in winter that provides toilet facilities

Sunset Surf is a highly respected and great shop and cafe that supports local beach users and holiday makers, offering a great service for all and providing locals with secure jobs. Since it has been repaired and re-opned the whole shop and area is significantly better, safer, cleaner more in-keeping with the surrounding properties and in general a vast improvement. No brainer to grant this approval and secure this business for the future, it has served us well for decades, long may it continue.

I would like to voice my support for this application. Born and raised in Cornwall, I am all too aware of the damage that building development can and does have on our duchy.
However, I believe this particular application should be judged on its merits. This small business is a genuine asset to the area, providing quality services in both food and surf provisions. Unlike the many tacky establishments that are allowed to sully our coast, this place actually adds something, and I, for one, would be sad if this were jeopardised by a refusal of retrospective planning permission.

It would be a great loss to Gwithian if the business were forced to close. Great cafe run by friendly family and employing a number of local people. Necessary repairs have greatly improved facility without visually impacting on area.

Usual council b@@@@@s. A super business,employs locals. We can over develop Truro, with more supermarkets and homes but we cant allow this super familly run business to protect there livliehood

Fabulous cafe - excellent gluten free food - helpful and friendly service. Why would the council risk closing a tourist attraction - we are from Oxford and have recommended this cafe to lots of people.
