I would like to add my support as I fell in love with this area over a decade ago. The cafe brings significant business to this corner of the world but retains an unspoilt beauty spot. It would be a great shame and loss to lose an iconic place that so many enjoy.

This is a great place. We always make a point of coming here when we holiday in Cornwall. It's one if the reasons we visit Cornwall in the first place. I can't possibly see what the objections could be to the changes they have made.

This place is precious. Big bods and/or more junior staff at the council alike, please let it flourish and support it in any way you can. Apart from a small business (run by fantastic people, and a family home), that you have a duty to protect, it is a tourist destination that brings much joy to many people. It also represents what society so obviously lacks today: opportunities for social contact and physical activity. (Not to mention a dose of good, old-fashioned family fun ... or RnR.) Widen your eyes to take a public health perspective on this too. Do the 'partnership, integrated and joined-up thinking' stuff that you've been encouraged to do for years. Do it instead of saying it. Your council & NHS colleagues are desperately seeking environmental and social opportunities to improve people's: face-2-face contact in a digitalised and faceless world, well-being, quality of life and physical health. I challenge you to find someone that has NOT left Sunset Surf smiling - nay, laughing - having had a great, active day out on the beach, taking in the fresh air and beauty of our precious coastal scenery. Don't be stupid about this one. Please.

As a regular visitor to Cornwall I can not believe that the local authority can do other than approve the improvements and quality that this popular establishment provides.

Sunset surf is an iconic spot at Gwithians Towans. We alive in York and spend every May half term in Cornwall. We always make sure we visit Sunset Surf at least once.
The staff, service and food are all fantastic.
Surely the local council should be supporting such businesses which bring in tourists and locals alike.

Small local businesses should be supported not penalised. Planning permission is given for huge supermarkets that no one wants. Listen to what local people want!

Sunset Surf is, and has been for many years, a favourite place of ours; first as a place to meet new people and solidify new friendships and, more recently, as a place for our new family to enjoy time together. To lose it would be a terrible loss, the area desperately needs it as there is nothing else like it on this end of the beach and anything nearby is very limited, not to mention the loss of jobs, and the fact that the area would be much less attractive to tourists if there are no amenities, therefore resulting in a reduction in income for the area.

I think the revamped Sunset Surf building is excellent and does not have any detrimental effects on the area, indeed I believe it enhances the area. I cannot see any justifiable reason for the retrospective planning permission not being approved and I hope this is forthcoming in the near future.

Unbelievable that this has been taken away as for people to go on the website to see the beautiful scenery that you have on show what a crowd Puller it was rethink about it

Sunset Surf is a small business that needs to be supported by the local council, not penalised through red tape. It's a local attraction that pulls in holiday makers, which is surely better for local economy?

As a regular visitor to The Towans in the 60/70s- a time before Gwithian was on the "map" - I was overjoyed to come across the webcam and to relive many happy memories. My favourite shot is of "my" lighthouse - Godrevy. Please, please don't take this wonderful facility away. I live in Kent but there's a part of me that will ALWAYS be on The Towans

I fully support Sunset Surf in their quest for retrospective planning as they are an important part of the local economy. We always look forward to our annual visit there.
