I oppose the new subdivision as we cannot handle the extra traffic and the schools cannot handle the additional students.

Keep it as zoned. Here is a published comment from a zoning board member at the most recent meeting on April 27, 2017 to review the proposed change in zoning to 'dense'. His name is Steve Rogers. He voted to approve the zoning change. "I didn't like to see Mirasol either, but it doesn't bother me in the least. This right here wouldn't bother me either. If you get more people, you get better schools." He didn't like it, but didn't care? If you get more people, you get better schools? Craziness. How did this guy get his position on the commission?

Until the roads are improved to the point that they can handle any additional growth, I am against this. I say build the roads and infrastructure first, and then add the houses.

I STRONGLY oppose

As a resident in this area of Jefferson County for over 17 years, I oppose a development of this high density in this area. The many reasons for being opposed have already been mentioned – traffic, flooding, school district overcrowding or possible redistricting, negative impact to privately owned deep wells, wildlife displacement and changing the rural look and feel of this area. Please REJECT any development that is proposed at this high density in this area!

Problem with density and lack of understanding flood plain which jefferson county is notorious

This trend of building on floodplains is detrimental in many ways; traffic concerns, flooding, student quotas, and yes, aesthetics. But consider too the impact on our water table. Installed water tank and sewage infrastructure will eventually cause strain on existing private wells, not to mention the river that lays just yards away. This could surely be met with outcry from anyone unfortunate enough to have bought housing on this land with the ultimate possibility of litigation. No one wants that. With less land, wildlife will be more affected and become another element to contend with. Deer with nowhere to go and a close by river boundary is forced to stay within confines – on housing property – and have much higher instances of collisions and possible fatalities on a two-lane highway. We are in good balance now. Proposed developments would mean significant imbalance and strain. I sign this petition in hopes that you will look elsewhere, in an area that does not cause undue stress on both the environment and the people already living in the area.

This area has enough flooding problems, enough low well water problems during the summer without having additional homes causing more problems

I totally disapprove this high density plan that was proposed. Such a shock to the beautiful farmland and area for wall to wall houses to be built there. A plan of 1 acre or more lots would be a more desirable plan. However, I believe a lot needs to happen in the way of improving our roads, the bridge over the Meramec and definite input from the Rockwood School District as to how they will handle the additional students. NO threats of redistricting to those that live in Jefferson County and have paid our taxes to Rockwood School District, Eureka Fire Department for years.

After this last flooding what a bad idea this neighborhood would be!! The water has no place to go and FF and 109 W have been closed again for two days!! Traffic and dangerous roads what a mess!!!

I oppose the high density zoning but will not oppose a lower density plan.
