Basic points of this petition is to see for ourselves as a subdivision, who is been made aware of the facts of the pond issue. Our home values will decrease. Our subdivision will be less attractive to us and potential home buyers. Do not take the information on the city letter at face value. There are many many underlying issues to this pond problem. We have a major silt problem coming into our subdivision with faulty sewer drainage. We shouldn't have to pay for that. The silt issued should not be considered "maintenance". The silt issue is not going away, "naturalizing" the ponds or dredging has nothing to do with stopping the silt, flooding and drainage issues. Ask the officials when the silt problem will be fixed. The people who did the testing of the ponds are claiming (falsely) that goose droppings are a part of the silt. We absolutely do not have any geese in our ponds. Maybe a dozen once a year. We have not been given all the information. A dozen or so residents have started in depth research. The city is making excuses and must have some motive behind this. This issue was on put on the table and discussed without our knowledge many many months ago. The testing was done last October, 2012. We were not notified that we would be footing the bill for something in the near future. When we were finally notified, it is suddenly a rush deal now. THIS IS NOT RIGHT.
