The University of Sunderland Sports Centre is closing down at the end of this term, permanently! The new CitySpace facility is replacing the sports provisions including gym and sports hall but NOT the 25m pool! The University state on their website that "The Centre's 25m swimming pool is very popular both with staff and students, and with the local community" - the question then, WHY GET RID OF IT The pool provides both a recreational and competitive facility to students in particular, a meeting place for friends and a place to unwind and relax away from your studies. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO SUPPORT US IN KEEPING THE UNIVERSITY POOL, PLEASE SIGN THE PETITION AND GIVE YOUR SUPPORT!
