This petition is to request Cinevistaas, the production house of the show 'Dill Mill Gayye' aired on the channel Star One, to retain Sukirti Kandpal for the role of Dr.Riddhima Gupta. There have been rumours, and more recently published online articles, stating that there have been efforts made to bring back Shilpa Anand, who previously played the same role, on the show. We acknowledge that she was very popular, and still continues to be so amongst her many loyal fans. However, Sukirti Kandpal has been on the show for over nine months, and is doing a wonderful job. We believe that she has undeniably established a sufficiently large fan base of her own. In accordance with the information available on the internet and in print media alike, it has been said that the production house has also been happy with her conduct. To illustrate the basis for this petition, this is a link to the most recent article stating that the production house has made efforts and is still prepared to take Shilpa Anand back if she is willing to reconsider : http://www.india-forums.com/tellybuzz/article.aspid=4256 If the issue is the show's popularity, then we offer one clear instance : in accordance with a year-end countdown conducted by Star News on their show Saas Bahu Aur Saazish in December 2008, Dill Mill Gayye was at the seventh position in the Top Ten shows of the year. It is a fact that for the major part of the same year, starting from 1st June '08, the role of Riddhima Gupta was essayed by Sukirti Kandpal. The dip in the popularity of the show, if a dip there is at all, has been seen beginning around January 2009, and in all fairness cannot, therefore, be attributed to her. Although the fact that there have been efforts made to bring back Shilpa Anand has hurt us, what has hurt us far more is the revelation that the production house is still willing to replace Sukirti Kandpal if Shilpa Anand is willing to reconsider her decision of leaving. This is extremely unfair not only to Sukirti Kandpal's fans, but also to all the hard work put in by her for the show as well as the character it was such a challenge to carve a niche for herself in. The repayment for the same through repeated public efforts to replace her is something we really disapprove of. Our request is that Sukirti Kandpal should not be removed from the show, and should be retained for the role of Dr.Riddhima Gupta. Thank You.
