Could not agree more with being allowed to have chickens. In a world where our food is questionable, this is and would be a great source of organic eggs and chickens for Sudburians.

100% support from my family, we would actually encourage surrounding neighbours to raise chickens. We should all have some sort of knowledge and experience in living just a little more self-sufficient.

Backyard chickens are some of the safest, nicest pets to have - and they provide food! They are great at controlling insects and are little composting machines. Please join other great cities in allowing residents to keep pet chickens!

Laying hens are very quiet, friendly and docile. Well cared for and maintained coops produce little, if any, foul smell.

I would definitely enjoy having a few laying hens, let's hope this gets approved sooner rather than later.

Nothing better than organic eggs.

There is no reason this cannot be done on a small scale. The cost of living is continuing to rise everyday and this would help families with the cost of food.

We had to move to Oakville a few years back for better pay and now, while we are still young enough, want to move back to our home we own in Val caron. Our time away has given us a greater appreciation for eating clean and growing our own food. When considering where to move to again and settle down for the rest of our lives, chickens and growing our own food is paramount in our decisions. Val Caron/Sudbury are cities poised to connect to the growing demand from Canadians to reconnect. Let's face it, things are never going to be as good as it was, clean lakes, clean air, honest governments, affordable GMO free food. No we can't go back but we can anticipate and prepare our own people so they can at the very least feed themselves and their children. Allow back yard chickens. Reduce the regulations and treat adults like adults.

I would be interessted in having hens in our back yard. It would be a great opertunity to teach our kids how to care for animals and everything about sustanability and food.

chickens are nothing new, people always had chickens for eggs. One of natures true nourishment. At least you know that you will treat and care for your chickens well and in return you get eggs, simple living.
