We welcome the prospect of large scale industrial action on the 30th November, as outlined at the Trades Union Congress. Students and our Unions should be part of this action too at this time of crisis for education, supporting the University and College Union, National Union of Teachers, UNISON and others taking strike action in education, against job losses, cuts and privatisation. We call on the National Union of Students to call a national day of action on 30th November, mobilising students across the country to support the strikes and protests. NUS already has policy to support public sector strikes, and this should be acted upon. Further, we ask Students Unions and activists to ensure that the NUS does its job, and if it fails we build for a successful 30th November nationwide.

The feedback I am hearing from various campuses suggests a deep frustration with the current inaction. I have been spending my time meeting with organizers to coordinate our next steps despite the fatigue settling in. This remains a difficult path to navigate but we are not backing down.

Finally. Its about time we showed the govt we wont stand for these cuts to our future.
