Según el Plan de Control Local responsabilidad y actualización anual o el LCAP en el condado de North Monterey, el 83% son de bajos ingresos y el 81.2% recibe almuerzo gratis o reducido, lo que significa que pueden necesitar más ayuda financiera, especialmente con útiles escolares. Alrededor del 50% o más de los estudiantes de secundaria en el Condado de Norte de Monterey cumplieron con los estándares en artes del lenguaje inglés, más del 20% de los estudiantes de primaria cumplieron con los estándares de matemáticas y casi el 20% de los estudiantes de secundaria cumplieron con los estándares matemáticos del condado de North Monterey. Alrededor del 96% de los estudiantes de North Monterey High School se gradúan y solo el 43% cumple con los requisitos de ingreso a la universidad. Cuando la mayor parte de la población de el Condado Norte de Monterey vive en la pobreza o necesita ayuda adicional, puede dañar a nuestros estudiantes porque no pueden acceder a los materiales. Sin todos estos materiales les resulta difícil aprender y eso podría conducir a una educación deficiente. Si nuestros estudiantes reciben estos o más materiales, más de la mitad de los estudiantes del distrito podrían cumplir con los estándares de matemáticas y artes del lenguaje. Hacer esto también puede ayudar a aumentar nuestras tasas de graduación y tal vez incluso el porcentaje de estudiantes que ingresan a la universidad o colegio. Everyone should have an opportunity to further their education especially during this pandemic. There are many students that do not have access to learning material. That means that for many students their learning opportunity has been taken away. That is why we ask you to sign this petition, we want students to have access to learning material. For example pens, highlighters, books, calculators and pencils. According to Local Control Accountability plan and Annual Update or LCAP in North Monterey County 83% are low-income and 81.2% get free or reduced lunch which means they might need more economic help especially with school materials. About 50% or more of high school students in NMCUSD met standards in english language arts, over 20% of elementary school students met mathematical standards and almost 20% of the middle school students met mathematical standards in North Monterey County. About 96% of North Monterey High School students graduate and only 43% meet the college entrance requirements. When the majority of the NMCUSD popularity lives in poverty or needs extra help, it can harm our students because they can’t access materials. In order to learn, students need materials like pencils to write and develop their skills or books to learn things. Without all these materials it's hard for them to learn and that could lead to a poor education. If our students are provided with these or more materials more than half of the district's students could meet the standards for math and language arts. Doing this can also help increase our graduating rates and maybe even the percentage of students that continue their studies after high school.
