Students permitted in the halls at lunch

literally just trying to eat my lunch without being crowded by 500 kids in the cafeteria. its so loud in there i can barely hear myself think half the time

i 100% agree, we get treated with such ignorance. during lunch hours we can’t even go to the bathroom without being followed and getting yelled at.

Some people don’t wanna sit in loud places or outside in the cold, they should be able to walk around and enjoy the break

I may not attend school but I think it’s so stupid that teachers preach our independence when growing up and being in high school yet they won’t let us walk around the halls without being monitored…. Lol

I understand rules and regulations can change over time, however my grade 9 year.. before COVID was even a word we could roam the halls. Some of the friendships I’ve made over my last 5 at Madill were because of roaming the halls with students I may never have had the chance to talk to do to not being in classes together. Not only should this be brought back for reasons already mentioned but for the well fair of students (school is safer than roaming the streets of Wingham) and for the socializing (most students mental health is positively impacted by who and how often they interact with friends)
