Students in need of parking

Being an alumni of Hillel Academy, I am fully aware of this problem. For years parking has been a problem for student drivers, myself included and I am in full support of this petition. I am proud to see the Student Council Body address this problem and hope the administration can address the issue. My concern is the issue of theft. Security will not always be watching the cars parked outside of the school, leaving students' cars liable to theft. Students should be able to travel to school without being worried about their cars being parked outside campus liable to theft and damage.

In comparison to how many students drive, and how many have asked for extra parking provision, it is only right that administration take some action to address the issue

I think we should be able to atleast park in the parking lot past the guard house by the exist gate

My car has been hit while parked on the curb and it's dangerous for my little sister to cross the road especially when there is so much traffic in the morning.

When students are forced to park outside on the lawns of private property the people who own the that area complain and write notes attached to the cars which ruins the reputation of the school. The problem can be solved very easily just let students park inside the school

I always have to park on the side walk which damages my suspensions.

There is insufficient parking for the student who drive. It in an inconvenience for us as the student as well as parents.

It would be beneficial to us as student drivers if the parking lots at the bottom of the school were made available to us. With this, we would be assured that our cars are safe within the boundaries of the school as opposed to being forced to park outside and leaving them vulnerable to theft and/or serious damage. Parking on the curb damages our tires as the curb has deteriorated to the point where it is basically just stones, dirt and the occasional set of tree roots. The undercarriage of most of our cars can also be damaged, as a significant portion of the curb is high and most of the student driver population drives low cars. We are reaching out to our administration to deal with this issue so that the parents who need to drop off and collect their children before and after school are not further inconvenienced.

Well even if we can not park inside the school then they could at least open up the front of the the staff house to try give additional parking to the students.

"Something needs to be done" a mother said the other day. The school leaves us no choice but to park on the neighbors sidewalk. There is no security for our cars on the road or people walking to their cars in the evenings after their respective activities and this is of utmost concern, especially as Cherry Gardens has become a popular area for armed robberies. Students' small cars cannot even get on the curb. My shocks are taking a toll and they now bottom out. There is an entire parking lot in the school that is empty on all days apart from special events. The school needs to do something.

Even though I get a parking space in the mornings, it would be better if i could park closer to the lounge because I have a ton of heavy material for art and it is becomes very difficult.

It's absolutely ridiculous. Especially due to the fact that there is an essentially unused parking space at the bottom of the school. Amendments could easily be made, so as to convert the bottom gate for student parking. Can the Hillel administration please step up...

I highly agree with this petition as a student who drives. My car is unsafe outside and the sidewalk that we park on can potentially damage our cars as a majority of us drive low cars and it can also puncture our tires.
