Students for Sanitization
Hello, my name is Nikki Durham and I am a senior and AP Government and Politics student at El Camino High School in Oceanside, CA. A large group of my peers and I are currently tackling the issue of sanitation on campus. After analyzing the decrepit state of our school (including soap dispensers that don't work, unclean bathrooms, and a rising amount of absences due to sickness that I thoroughly believe is passed as a result of poor sterilization of our classrooms and restrooms), we are starting an initiative to get hand sanitizer pumps installed across our campus. We believe these stations will begin to tackle and lower the illness based absence rate at EC as well as stop the spread of germs on campus. With every absence, El Camino loses money, which in turns directly takes away from students' learning environments. Whether you are a student tired of being exposed to viruses due to the lack of proper health materials or a parent who is concerned for their child's wellbeing here at what is supposed to be a safe place, please take the time to sign this petition to show your support for the initiative. Every signature will be used to show the OUSD School Board, Purell, and other necessary organizations and officials the support these sanitizer pumps have from students of El Camino and citizens of Oceanside and surrounding areas. Thank you for your time and we look forward to updating you all on the progress of our quest.
