USFSM deserves it's own accreditation.

If this merg happens it will completely ruin the uniqueness of USFSP. We are a small campus with small classes for a reason. If the merg were to happen then it would take away so many of our specialized programs that Tampa doesn’t offer. Most of our programs would get desiovled into Tampa’s curriculum. USFSP provides a unique intamente learning experience that I would personally hate to see future generation not be able to experience. The reason I am at this school is for its small class sizes that allow me to have a relationship with my perffesors, which has benefited my college and learning experiences. I actually feel like my teachers care about what happens to me when I graduate. If I was in a class with 100 kids this would not be the same case and the professor probably wouldn’t even know my name. USFSP needs to stay separate from Tampa if we are going to preserve this unique learning environment that USFSP provides.

As a former Student Body President at the University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee, I can assure you this will hurt all three campuses. Judy Genshaft and the rest of Tampa admin do not care about our Regional Campuses in the slightest. To have them fully in charge of us would lead to complete academic and financial stagnation for the city of Sarasota, Manatee County, and Saint Petersburg

USFSM and USFSP deserve to stay the way they are. They keep the USF pride but have become distinctly their own with completely different student cultures. As an Alumni and a previous USFSM Student Body President, I am against this bill.

Usfsp students have created a culture. An identity for usfsp. To try and take away their independence is hurting the students and students are the priority. Hopefully in my life time I see the people who make decision for college students and all other students, focus on the fact that the happiness and success of the students is what is important.

Both USFSM and USFSP need the independence provided by separate accreditation to properly serve their respective communities.

I love my separate accreditation school. I proudly claim USFSP as my home and my school.

This bill would threaten USFSP's identity and force us to answer to admin offices at a campus that historically is very distant and not super caring of our affairs.
