Banning books is the start of a slippery slope that we all know where it leads. Information freedom is a core tenet of our democracy.

Kids need access to books they can associate with, not be controlled. Many of these books have themes that would prove insightful to the coming generations. I'm certain there are more "violate and inappropriate" books on their required reading lists for literature classes. I was required to read books such as Maus and Z for Zachariah, which were filled with murder, genocide, and rape and that was seen as okay. But books only with people of color or queerness? Now that's targeted.

This is so frustrating to see. Don't check them out if you don't want to learn or read about things. Don't take things away from kids that do want to learn.

Book banning was extremely popular with the Nazis. Let's be better than Nazis. What do you say?

This is so disgusting, they are parents and should stay in their lane. Who are they to decide who can read what based on their own prejudices?!

We shouldn’t have our right to read something truthful taken away from us. It isn’t right. What will it prove?

Banning the books only further keep us ignorant and non-inclusive. We already have issues being able to empathize or sympathize due to different lives, cultures & exposures. Reading the uncomfortable & in variety, help widen our minds & veer us away from tunnel vision/thinking/view points. Plus they are good intros to what they'll read in college!
