A motion got passed in Union Council this Monday that will mean that all heads of Media Departments from now on will be elected by a cross-campus vote, where any student can vote and run. This motion has struck a lot of conflict. It's something that I don't feel is being properly communicated to students because of the small time-frame. If you disagree with the motion being passed then you can change it. This is your Students Union! If a petition with 100 people is signed by the end of Thursday, you can appeal the decision and call an Emergency General Meeting, where any student can attend and vote. It's important to know that YOU have these opportunities. Signing this petition would allow the debate to be reopened and explored again, and has the potential to drastically change Union policy. Remember, signing this petition will NOT reverse Union Council's decision, but rather will allow a forum for further discussion.
