My name is Lauren Shanks, I am a senior at IWU. I am majoring in Political Science and am also apart of the Women's Soccer Team. I would love to be apart of Student Senate this year because I have really enjoyed my past two years on Student Senate and would like to be apart of it one last time for my senior year! Student Senate is something that keeps me involved in things that are going on around campus. Not only does it keep me engaged but also helps me form leadership and commitment skills. In addition, Student Senate pushes me out of my comfort zone a bit and helps me engage in conversations and meet new people I wouldn't have met otherwise.
