Hi, my name is Kamden Na, a graduating senior from Issaquah High School. Recently, after noticing that people were gradually getting loose with the guideline of wearing a mask to prevent COVID-19, I wanted to advocate to the country that there should be more rigid regulations for wearing a mask. According to a recent research conducted, COVID-19 is a splash infection, which means that for every minute, at least 1000 viruses in a person's spit will remain in the air for 8 minutes. By getting more people to wear a mask, people can protect themselves 5 times more from the virus exposure than not wearing a mask. Therefore, I truly believe that over time after wearing a mask, less people will contract the disease. Please sign my petition to prevent the spread of disease and I would appreciate it a lot!
Kamden, In Hawaii we are required to wear masks in public and it has worked well. Our infection rate was down to zero before our Governor opened up the Hawaii Economy again and put 14 day shelter in place restrictions on travelers. Since we have opened up our economy our infection rate has gone up. 8-25 people infected a day. However, if we didn't wear masks in public , I'm sure it would be MUCH higher!!! craig
