The traction this petition has gained lately is exhausting but it proves that people recognize how broken the current system has become. I am tired of the bureaucracy slowing us down yet seeing this level of interest keeps me moving forward.

The Enterprise Investment Scheme is the envy of our overseas competitors in young growth businesses. For a scheme that is intended to make things happen, the persistent changes and complexity brought in are in danger of moving the scheme out of the reach of entrepreneurs . Clarity and a positive attitude are required, starting with the Advanced Assurance process.

We have constanly seen requests for evidence of trading whereas intended trading is provided for in the legislation. we have also seen businesses being categorised as something they are not (inevitably to HMRC's advantage.
The response times are far too slow.

Advance assurance gives investors confidence that they will benefit from EIS. Removing advance assurance would make it harder for businesses to raise much need capital and I agree with the EISA's recommendations.

I agree with EISA's recommendations. This is critical to confidence in EIS which in turn has real value for UK SMEs ability to fundraise.

This is business critical to many EIS fund managers, and may be the reason funds are withdrawing from the market.

Investors and investment managers a like need the clarity that advanced assurance offers. The system being more streamlined and efficient benefits all stakeholders in the process.
