Petition to Reform FMD Vaccination Protocols to Protect Veterinary Staff and Ensure Safer Livestock Vaccinations
As the frontline guardians of livestock health, veterinary staff endure significant risks while vaccinating animals against Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD), particularly under challenging field conditions with limited resources. Despite their dedication, the high incidence of injuries due to improper livestock handling has become a growing concern, especially with the scarcity of veterinary personnel.
To protect our veterinary workforce and ensure efficient FMD vaccination campaigns, we call for an urgent shift in vaccination protocols that includes the measures mentioned:
