We support our local butchers and back calls for Stornoway Black Pudding to be granted Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) status by the European Commission.

Following reports of 'Stornoway Style Black Pudding' on sale in the central belt, Highlands and Islands Labour MSPs have launched a campaign to achieve EU protected geographical status for the product. This would mean that only black puddings produced in Stornoway could be advertised as 'Stornoway Black Pudding.' This designation would protect both the product and local jobs.
